If you wish to apply for RMC's Bachelor programmes Music Perfomance and Music Production starting August 2021, be aware that the admission procedure has changed significantly:
All applicants must now submit recorded material with the application: Two music samples with a total duration of between 7 and 10 minutes. In the 1st round of the entrance exams, the music samples are judged by a censor panel without your presence.
Only applicants selected for the 2nd round will then do a presentation for the censor panel at RMC – in the form of either a concert exam (Music Performance) or a combined work presentation and mix exam (Music Production), followed by an interview based on your presentation and your submitted application form.
Previously, all applicants in the 1st round showed up at RMC for a concert exam or mix exam. The applicants with the highest ratings proceeded to the 2nd round with further presentations and interviews.
The changes are due to the worldwide situation with COVID-19, which makes it necessary for RMC to limit the physical presence at the conservatory. In comparison, 336 applicants (each with their own bands or accompanists) from all over the world took part in the initial concert exams or mix exams at RMC in the previous application round for Music Performance and Music Production.
Note: The admission procedure for the APD programmes as well as the Bachelor programmes Composition and Music Management is unchanged.
The application for RMC's Bachelor and APD programmes opens on 15 October and the application deadline is 1 December at 11:59.
RMC will host an online information meeting about admission on Tuesday 10 November at 17:00 via Zoom - see more here.
